MMPI Profiles of Posttraumatic Stress Disorders

Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine the power of the diagnostic discrimination of MMPI between the posttraumatic stress disorders and the organic brain syndromes We have administered MMPI to 51 post-traumatic stress disorders and 138 organic brain syndromes_ We have analyzed these data into the MMPI scales, configurations, and code?types.
The main findings are as followings :
1. Hs, D, Hy, Pd, Pa, Pt, Se, Si, L, and F scales are statiscally higher scores posttraumatic stress disorders compared with the normal controls.
2. Hs, D, and Hy scales are statisrally higher scores in the posttraumatic stress disorders compared with the organic brain in the organic brain syndromes compared with the posttraumatic stress disorders.
3. The configuration of clinical scales(Hs, D, Hy) of post traumatic stress disorders showed "conversion v" type.
4. The mean profile of MMPI in the organic brain syndromes is elevated on Hs, Hy, Pa, and Sc scales
5. 84,3% of post traumatic stress disorders are classified into code?types, and 43.1% of this group show as 1?3 type.
